1. What do you use your carrier for? Name all the activities you use it for (ALL activities).
Hauling corp stuf and loot, dropping down in the frontlines to assist my gang and dish out a nice amount of dmg to help even more.
2. How much support do you feel you should need when you field your carrier for combat when going against a gang of 3? A gang of 5? A gang of 10? A gang of 50?
Field a carrier against 3/5/10 man gang? I'd use normal ships for that, a gang of 50 - are we talking pods or shuttles? cus noone sane person would or could fight that many ships even with top carrier skills and faction mods :P
3. Do you think you should be able to go 1 vs 5 and win? How about 1 v 10? In other words, how many people do you believe you should be able to kill alone taking ship types into consideration. How many BS/BC's/Cruisers/Etc?
This is a misleading question, I mean if a carrier finds i.e 5 frigates/cruisers if the pilot is skilled to field lots of fighters he should win, it is a capital ship meant to give support and utilize FIGHTERS en mass. Against BC, BSs a lone carrier I doubt could break their tanks if they had some log mods in the gang.
4. Do you believe that you should be able to kill a large amount of ships simply because you spent a lot of money and skill time for the ship, regardless of it's designed role (this does not just include carriers)?
Killing a large amount of ships is dependant on pilot skills, mods and how they play their ship, a carrier could be destroyed by a small group of ships if he doesnt utilize it correctly, carriers are among the most expensive ships to train, one of teh reasons....they can dish out fighters to pwn people, limiting them to 5 and asigning 5 to others isnt going to work when a lag bomb hits. Is CCp going to dispense with all lag? Isk and ships.mods do not make a killer, the pilot is the true force
5. Do you believe carriers have too little (solo) firepower, too much, or just enough?
just enough, although u could increase the Nidhoggur it is the weaker of teh carriesr in my opinion
6. What do you believe a carriers role is?
Support logistics for a fleet, deal dmg ON THE FRONT LINES as they were meant to do, hence the amount of fighters they can churn out
7. Do you believe the carrier achieves this role through it's current abilities?
Yes
8. What would you change about the carrier if this drone change came into effect? Increased Repair Range? Increased Repair Amount? A Triage buff to allow control of the 5 fighters/drones you're able to deploy? The ability to control 5 additional fighters/drones if Triage Mode is activated? Less Cap needed for self rep/remote rep? (add what you believe would be a change worthy of the suggested drone change)
I wouldn't the change at all, I don't want to pos/station hug in it I want to do dmg at the front lines and give support. Triage module is good in theory but atm it is rubbish. The name carrier suggests it acn field lots of fighters to assist, pwn, etc..... should they not be allowed to live upto their name instead of just becoming haulers?
Tell me, is the change coming because you have been pwned by carriers so often you think they need nerfing? or is it truely to help gameplay, thus making the isk and time people have spent training carriers pointless. Methinks CCP will lose some paying customers over this, are you willing to take the risk?.........
